There’s little question that the market for mobile devices has been heating up for the past few years. With Apple’s iPhone and iPad devices fighting it out with the likes of Blackberry and a host of others, consumers are seeing more and more apps being released for almost any purpose you can think of.
Sling Media, which is affiliated with DISH Network will be releasing an app for the Windows Phone 7 which will allow users to access and watch programming on the go. Sling makes devices that are attached to DVRs and other set-top boxes and are able to make the content from the set-top box available over the internet, including programming that is currently being aired.
Sling currently offers apps for Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Palm OS, Symbian and Windows Mobile.
The new app will be an improvement over the older Windows Mobile app, since it will present video with resolution that is four times better.
I guess the best way to show what the new app is capable of is to simply show you, thanks to a demo video from Sling Media:
